About the Show 

 

Little Princess is a preschool series based on the books by Tony Ross, produced by Illuminated Film Company for Fives Milkshake slot. Voice cast included Julian Clary, Jane Horrocks and Brian Blessed.

 

I helped shape the show's tone, leaning into self discovery, learning and at utmost humour. Making sure to balance warmth, humour and clarity for a very young audience whilst trying to avoid 'princess' stereotypes and ensuring it connected with families.

 

It's a series about a little girl learning about the world around her, testing the boundaries and having fun. Easy when the 'grown up's' behave like children too.  

 

Little Princess was a global success, airing in over 160+ territories world wide  - and earning multiple BAFTA nominations (if it wasn't for that pig called Peppa!!)

Why it Matters

​

Preschool directing demands a different rhythm and pacing to the older kids shows, emotionally safe yet genuinely funny is the challenge, capable of international translation without losing tone or intent. 

Working with the brilliant team would be the foundation for my confidence to tackle my own idea IP's
